Shirjeel Malik is principal of S K Malik & Co who set up the practice in 1995. He began his practice from Barkerend Road, Bradford along with 3 other colleagues who were also self-employed Accountants & enjoyed good working & social relation with them. In 2009, however, the client base for him as well as the fellow Accountants had increased significantly, and therefore Mr Malik decided to move to a new premises to accommodate his growing clientele. He moved into his new premises, York House, 249 Manningham lane, Bradford, BD8 7ER in August 2010 & has been running his practice from there ever since.
Mr Malik studied in various schools in Pakistan, Uganda & Saudi Arabia, and graduated from Punjab University, Pakistan, in Accounting & Finance. He worked for Crescent Investment Bank for a period of 3 years, until he came to UK for further studies. He worked for various firms of accounting practices until he set up his own Accountancy practice.
Mr Malik enjoys his work as it gives his opportunity to meet clients form various nationalities & communities. His clientele ranges from small business to large companies. He is well respected by his clients and has helped many clients with his professional advice, be it accounting issues, tax planning or management decisions.
He has helped raise money for various charities for past 20 years, whether in the aftermath of a natural disaster or looking after victims of heinous acid victims. He is a regular donor of various charities, including charity of pioneering business woman, Musarrat Misbah’s Depilex Smile again Foundation, Child Welfare Trust, Kashmir Education Foundation, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust, Save the Children, Action for Blind, WWF-UK, Heart Research Foundation, Al-Mustafa Trust and many more.. He believes in giving back to the society as his moral & religious obligation.
He has also been involved in various community projects and helps wherever possible, in building bridges between communities. He is proud to be part of Britain and commends the social & humanitarian values of this country. He is currently director & general secretary of ‘Pakistan Club’, which is a non-political, non-religious, not -for-profit community organisation which promotes community cohesion & highlights achievements of British Pakistanis. He loves his sports and still manages time to participate in sporting activities including cricket, football and squash. He is also proud sponsor of 2 local cricket clubs.
As well as being a proud British citizen, he hasn’t forgotten his roots and is an active campaigner of cricket-turned statesman Imran Khan, who was former chancellor of University of Bradford. He has served as General Secretary for 2 years and later as President of his political party in Yorkshire & Humberside, PTI-UK, He is still an active campaigner for his party and wants to contribute his share in bringing social & economic change in Pakistan through honest leader like Imran Khan.
